Simon Says and Pollycraft Challenges

Hello - OMG the Easter holidays are nearly over, back to school on Monday - I just cannot believe how fast this time has gone!

The challenge on Simon Says this week is to Make a Card For a Child, and maybe send it to a child via Post Pals, a website which enables people to send post to sick children. All the children on the site have life threatening illnesses and are so courageous. All they ask is that you send a child a card to bring some joy into their lives and a smiles on their face. I have had a link to their website on my sidebar for a while but never actually sent anything before (that is so bad!), so this challenge was the spur I needed to change that.

The image I have used is a Pollycraft digital image - it actually started out as a duck with a cupcake, but I have used the sun (also from Pollycraft), cut that out, cut around the duck's beak and wing and slotted the sun over the cupcake, so that I could use the Pollycraft sentiment "Sending you Sunshine". So I'm also going to enter this card in this week's Pollycraft Challenge which is Anything Goes.

I snagged the idea for the pinwheel from Paola - I think it is such a fabulous idea for an embellishment for a boy's card - thanks for the inspiration Paula. I have made sure that the pinwheel can actually be turned around - only problem is that the card won't fit in the envelope now - oops!!

I hope my card is enjoyed by the child who receives it.

Be back soon!

Oh Cripes - It's So Easy to Get Carried Away In Blogland

Just a quickie - please look at the post below for my entry for this week's Cute Card Thursday Challenge.

I've just been to turn the sausages which I'm cooking for tea - but I'd forgotten to put them under the grill!!!!! Isn't it so easy to get carried away with blogging - I was waiting for the grill to warm up and got carried away writing my post for my Cute Card Thursday Challenge - Oops!!

Going to finish cooking now!

Cute Card Thursday

Hello Everyone - wow, today is such a beautiful day - almost made me want to go out in the garden (but not quite (lol!)) - I really do not have green fingers or any kind of garden design inspiration, and I so wish I did. But I have been out without a coat today (yippee!!).

As I said yesterday, I am in the process of making a few cards for the Do Crafts Create a Card Campaign for Cancer Research. And I've just discovered that this week's challenge on Cute Card Thursday is Mono Mania, so I can enter one of the cards I've made.

This card is C6 size, the papers are DCWV Floral Prints Stack, and the image is Demure from Sugar Nellie (she is so beautiful isn't she?), and I've coloured her with Promarkers for skin and hair and watercolour pencils for her dress. I've also added glittery colour with Copic Spica pens. The ribbon is from my stash, the flowers were punched out and then Papermania flower gems added. And that's it - a simple card that still took me ages to create! I haven't added a sentiment - do you think I should? I'd love to know what you think!

Thanks for looking and I hope you are able to pop back again sometime!

PS - Sorry about another naff photo!!

A Spoon Full of Sugar - One For The Boys

Happy Wednesday everyone - at last we're getting some spring weather - lovely!

The card I'm showing today has been made for a friend of my daughter - yet another party she's invited to!

I'm entering it in this week's A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge, which is One For the Boys.

The image I've used is a digi image from Little Musings - his name is Finn, and I think he's perfect for a little boy. I've decoupaged him up, and added some funny eyes - I wanted to use wobbly eyes but I hadn't got any big enough.

Well, that's it from me for now. I'm working on some cards to take to the local Cancer Research shop at the moment, and trying to come up with a good idea for cards for my hubby next week - his birthday and our 12th wedding anniversary - and my mojo seems to have taken a hike at the moment! Oh well, I'll come up with something!

Well, enjoy the rest of your week, and I hope to see you again soon.
