A Girlie Card

Hello Peoples!

I think I may be on a bit of a roll - I've made some cards that I've been really happy with over the last few days, and this is one of them (although the photo doesn't give it justice really):

The image is one I won in a challenge a couple of months ago, a digi from Fred She Said - from the Little Miss Bitty set and, as I'm not good at colouring, I've paper pieced her dress. The papers are from the summer freebie My Minds Eye paper pad. The heart dies are X-cut, the ribbon was from a local cheapie store, I think the large pink fabric flowers are Dovecraft, the smaller flowers are punched from the paper pad. The sparkly gems are Papermania shimmer dots, and I luuuuuuuuv them! The sentiment is hand written, not perfect but OK!

I've followed the sketch on this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge, and I'm also entering my card in this week's Lollipop Crafts which is Glitter, Sparkle, Gems - I used stickles around the sentiment heart, and the shimmer dots are sparkly.

I've got another card to show you soon. So, see you then. Thanks for looking.

Love, Andrea xx

Simon Says and Pollycraft Challenges

Hello - OMG the Easter holidays are nearly over, back to school on Monday - I just cannot believe how fast this time has gone!

The challenge on Simon Says this week is to Make a Card For a Child, and maybe send it to a child via Post Pals, a website which enables people to send post to sick children. All the children on the site have life threatening illnesses and are so courageous. All they ask is that you send a child a card to bring some joy into their lives and a smiles on their face. I have had a link to their website on my sidebar for a while but never actually sent anything before (that is so bad!), so this challenge was the spur I needed to change that.

The image I have used is a Pollycraft digital image - it actually started out as a duck with a cupcake, but I have used the sun (also from Pollycraft), cut that out, cut around the duck's beak and wing and slotted the sun over the cupcake, so that I could use the Pollycraft sentiment "Sending you Sunshine". So I'm also going to enter this card in this week's Pollycraft Challenge which is Anything Goes.

I snagged the idea for the pinwheel from Paola - I think it is such a fabulous idea for an embellishment for a boy's card - thanks for the inspiration Paula. I have made sure that the pinwheel can actually be turned around - only problem is that the card won't fit in the envelope now - oops!!

I hope my card is enjoyed by the child who receives it.

Be back soon!

Love, Andrea xx
